BROWS AMORÉ

About

What is microblading?

Microblading is a form of a cosmetic semi-permanent makeup done to create the illusion of fuller brows. Performed using a manual (not a machine) disposable handheld tool, composed with very fine needles resembling the shape of a blade (called a microblade), to hand draw each individual hair while simultaneously implanting pigment into the skin. Each new hair stroke that is drawn is meant to seamlessly blend with the clients existing brows to add color and fullness resulting in a very natural look. The process from start to finish ensures that we design a customized shape, look, and feel that complements your face.

Who is microblading for?

Microblading is an ideal solution for clients who have patchy, thin, or uneven eyebrows and are looking for the most natural looking results. However, not everyone is a candidate for microblading and there are different elements to consider such as skin condition and health. In certain circumstances a note from your Doctor may be required when dealing with things like Cancer, Hemophilia and Hepatitis. Microblading is most suitable for clients with normal skin and small pores. Oil in the skin can cause the microblading hair-stroke to expand and blur so the less oily the client skin is, the better the result would be.

Who is not a candidate?

Anyone with moderate to severe oily skin. Oily skin will cause the hairstrokes to become thicker over time. The oil in the skin causes the pigment underneath the skin to disperse. If you suspect you may have oily skin please send a photo of your skin without make up at its normal level of oily-ness. A recommendation will be made from there.

The following clients are ineligible without exception:

Individuals under 18 years of age

We cannot Microblade anyone under 18 years of age, even with parental consent.

Women who are pregnant or nursing

As the body is going through hormonal changes, it is more prone to infections. Your skin may change and results can be unpredictable.

Individuals with Pacemaker or major heart problems

We use epinephrine, as a numbing agent, that can increase your heart rate possible causing dysrhythmias.

Individuals with viral infections and/or diseases

The risk of developing an infection is higher in people with a compromised immune system.

Individuals with Lupus

The risk of developing an infection is higher in people with a compromised immune system.

Individuals who have undergone Organ Transplant

The risk of developing an infection is higher in people with a compromised immune system.

Individuals with any kind of skin condition on or near the treatment area

Eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis or any one of these skin conditions may compromise the surface and texture of the skin. Procedure performed on skin with these types of conditions may have sub par results.

Individuals who are allergic to metal and colour

We use small needles and pigments that can contain some metals and colorant, so allergy can be a show stopper.

Individuals prone to keloids

Since permanent makeup punctures the skin, there is always a risk for people that are prone to keloids, to heal with keloids scaring

Individuals who used Accutane

Accutane alters the skin and makes it thin, dry, and sensitive. It also weakens your immune system. For those reasons you'll need to wait one year after your Accutane treatment is completed and your skin is back to its normal state.

ABOUT

What to expect at your appointment

Step one: find out if the client has particular goals in mind for their new brows. Get to know if they have a particular routine each morning such as coloring them in, ect.

Step two: explain the general process for the next few hours. Let the client know that at this appointment the brows will stay conservative with the shape and color to allow for bolder/larger at touch up if requested. Explain to the client how the shape is obtained and adjusted according to their liking. A before picture will be taken.

Step three: clean the area and begin mapping out the new brows based on the clients facial features. Once the outline is created, the client will then look at the new brow shape to decide if they want anything changed.

Step four: once the client is satisfied, the numbing cream will be applied and set for 20 minutes. During this time the aftercare regime is reviewed with the client

Step five: find the pigment that best suits the client. The pigment is determined based on the clients skin tone and natural brow hair. Once the brows are numb, microblading begins.

Step six: Once the brows are fully microbladed the client will get to view their new brows. An after picture will be taken.

What to expect AFTER my appointment

Brows will go through many stages: appearing very dark at first, very dull after dryness/flaking has subsided and new skin has formed. In the days following this dullness, pigment will reemerge and new skin will settle. Many brows will need up to 1 month to fully heal. Touch-ups will be scheduled 6-8 weeks out to retouch any bald spots and to ensure brows are perfectly even.

Aftercare instructions and balm will be reviewed and given to the client before they leave. Instructions as follows:

  • APPLY A GRAIN SIZE AMOUNT OF BALM 2-3x/DAY FOR 9 DAYS FOLLOWING YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • DONT GET THE BROWS WET FOR 5-7 DAYS.

  • AVOID ANY INCREASED SWEATING OR PRACTICING SPORTS

  • NO SWIMMING, HOT BATHS, HOT SAUNAS OR JACUZZI

  • NO SUN TANNING OR SALON TANNING

  • AVOID LASER OR CHEMICAL TREATMENTS/PEELS

  • AVOID RETINA OR GLYCOLIC ACID ON THE FACE OR NECK

  • NO PICKING, PEELING OR SCRATCHING OF THE AREA TO AVOID SCARRING OR REMOVAL OF PIGMENT

  • AVOID TASKS RELATED TO CLEANING GARAGES OR BASEMENTS TO AVOID AIRBORNE DEBRI

  • SMOKING AND DRINKING IN EXCESS CAN CAUSE FOR SLOW HEALING

  • AVOID DRIVING IN OPEN AIR VEHICLES SUCH AS BOATS, CONVERTIBLES, MOTORCYCLES etc

Other frequently asked questions:

Q:How long should I expect to be there?

A:The initial appointment plan for 1.5-2 hours. Touch up appointment plan for 1-1.5 hours.

Q:Is it painful?

A: The first numbing cream that is applied generally takes any discomfort from the client. Mid way through the procedure a second numbing cream containing epinephrine is applied for 2-3 minutes. After that the client doesn't generally feel anything.

Q: Are my eyebrows going to be red and swollen for a few days and should I plan for downtime?

A: Surprisingly no! The second numbing cream typically takes away any redness and swelling that may start appearing. Once you leave the shop the skin around the brows may be slightly red but typically subsides in an hour.

Q:Do you take off all of my natural brow hair?

A: No! It is best to try and incorporate as much of your natural hair as possible for the most natural result. Anything that falls outside of the outline will be tweezed and will need to be maintained by the client going forward.
